Join Janet Hughes, a trained textile designer, natural dye grower, and experienced educator, for a hands-on and beginner-friendly weave workshop. This session is perfect for those new to weaving as well as individuals wishing to further their understanding of weaving techniques and structures.

What to Expect:

  • Guidance from Janet Hughes, who brings a wealth of knowledge of textile design and natural dyeing.

  • Introduction to the innovative Boom Loom system, designed to make weaving accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels.

  • Hands-on creation of at least two woven structure samples during the workshop.

  • Step-by-step instruction in the fundamentals of weaving, including both plain weave and twill structures allowing a greater understanding of how woven cloth can be made.

  • Exploration of tapestry techniques, giving you a taste of creative weaving possibilities.

  • Opportunity to design your own cartoon (weaving plan) based on your learning and inspiration from the session.
