We’re a Creative Scotland Forward Fund recipient!

We are so delighted to have been successful in receiving a fantastic boost for our Kickstarter through the Creative Scotland Forward Fund. In our application, we emphasised our commitment to collaboration in the yarn community in Edinburgh and beyond. We explained the work we are doing to try and address some of the historic inequalities in the craft sector through our vendor space, travel and accommodation grants: As Scotland is less ethnically diverse than other areas of the UK, it is right that we work harder to create equity and inclusivity. We are also supporting the wider creative community through transparent pay practices in using the Scottish Artist Union and Musicians Union recommended rates for all our workshop tutors, speakers and performers and inviting other creative community organisations to exhibit and promote their work at the festival.

This additional fund has gone straight into the Kickstarter from Creative Scotland as a 'for no reward' pledge and contributes directly to our next stretch goals which are all about supporting people to come to the festival as speakers, vendors and workshop providers. We are honoured and grateful, thank you!
